Victory V7 - Genista
About Flash
The story and history of V14

From Andrew Alcantara:
Built in 1949 and allocated Z56. She probably never sailed in Portsmouth and was immediately brought over to Gibraltar. My records show that Frank Imossi was the first owner with Edgar Lavarello becoming the second owner and winning the Kings Cup twice in 1970 and 1971. It was then sold to the Governor of Gibraltar Sir David Williams who then sold her to Peter Elvin and a few years later to Richard Felipes. It was then returned to the Lavarello family with Charles taking her on. He managed to win the Kings Cup three times with her in 2007, 2008 and 2014. With Charles moving on to a new GRP boat (Nemesis) Flash was left looking for a new owner. In 2019 Michael Double took her on and together with his partner Esther they restored her and is now painted red. We wait to see if she again adds another Kings Cup to her name.
For me it was the first Victory i sailed on in the early 70's. I would crew for Jimmy Carboni during the midweek series until he purchased Zeus.
