About Alitea

The story and history of V19

From Andrew Alcantara:

Built in 1947 and assigned Z40 in Portsmouth. She arrived in Gibraltar in 1956. My earliest memory of her was when she was owned by Mr Solly Garson in the 70's. A wonderful man who would take time to teach the youngsters how to sail on her. Sadly Solly passed away whilst racing in or around 1978. I remember the day well as I was helming Niña and Solly had lent me a set of battens.

Louis Triay then bought her and some years later Guy Stagnetto. Bernard Capurro then took ownership followed by Dennis Sciacaluga around 2008. After not been in the water for a few years ownership now belongs to Scott Nomad/Martin Firestone/David Campbell. She is now almost ready to sail again in the upcoming new season.
